Kroki is a combination of 3 music worlds. The band consists of Szatt (producer), Jakub Goleniewski vel Jaq Merner (vocals) and Pawel Stachowiak (bass). Their musical inspirations include jazz, soul and indie rock, all of which are strongly highlighted by experimental electronics and the distinctive voice of the frontman. Despite such broad musical influences, Kroki have created their own unique sound. Their EP Stairs provokes fascination with its sound, harmony and emotions. The 7 tracks include both moody melancholic songs as well as strong dancing tunes. Kroki caught people’s attention with a great live session played for Sofar and their gig is one of the most popular Polish performances. The band is regarded as one of the greatest musical discoveries of 2016, leading to frequent appearances in the media. In 2017 band has been nominated by the Polish Phonographic Academy, which associates nearly a thousand Polish musicians, authors, composers, record producers, music journalists and the recording industry for Fryderyk’s Award. They had two nominations - for debut and best electronic album. 2019 resulted in the premiere of the album Controlled Chaos which on the one hand is a continuation of the direction chosen by artists, on the other hand Kroki allow themselves to be more nonchalant, do not chisel any sound, more than the form they are interested in the content.
