British soul singer-songwriter MT Jones today releases the deluxe edition of his debut album, JOY, expanding the acclaimed collection with four new tracks that strip his music back to its warmest and most intimate form. The release arrives as Jones kicks off an extensive run of U.S. dates today in Philadelphia with a performance for WXPN’s Free At Noon series at World Cafe Live. The run also includes an AmericanaFest performance at Nashville’s The 5 Spot on September 18, Chicago’s Schubas on September 26 and Los Angeles’ Moroccan Lounge on October 7. Jones released JOY in March, introducing a debut rooted in the warmth and musicianship of classic soul while remaining unmistakably contemporary. He followed the album with the three-song Sofa Sessions: Live at Maida Vale Studios, featuring live performances of “Why I Cry,” “Gentle Reminder” and Olivia Dean’s “So Easy (To Fall In Love).” Originally recorded for BBC Radio 2’s Sofa Session, the performance was broadcast November 19, 2025. That momentum has translated to the stage. Jones has played sold-out shows across the U.K., including Liverpool’s Arts Club Loft and London’s Union Chapel, and made his first U.S. headline appearances in New York and Los Angeles. His music has earned early U.S. support from SiriusXM’s The Spectrum and WXPN/World Cafe, while singles including “Punchin,” “Why I Cry” and “I Don’t Understand” have received airplay across BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music, Jazz FM and BBC Introducing.
