Darlinghurst

Darlinghurst is a Melbourne based four-piece Country group that’s creating a fresh sound in the Australian Country music scene. It’s a long way from the Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst to Nashville. Even further if you start from Melbourne and set out via London. It’s taken time but now, finally, they’ve arrived. Welcome to Darlinghurst. Band member Jason Resch explains the Darlinghurst story… “After spending several years in the UK co-writing with various artists and then two years writing in Nashville I returned to Melbourne. “I’ve always loved country music and l always wanted to write great songs. But I knew something would happen when l got back, and I figured if I met up with like-minded people, we’d form a band.” Via various Melbourne music industry contacts Jason met singer/songwriters Cassie Leopold, Pagan Newman and guitarist Matt Darvidis, they clicked as a unit and Darlinghurst was formed. Darlinghurst has created a sound that’s as accessible as it is unique. Grounded in refined songwriting, a keen ear for melody, relatable lyricism and exceptional performances. Three years on from their debut single Darlinghurst have scored six top-5 Countrytown HOT 50 radio hits, including four #1’s, a #1 debut album and in 2022 Darlinghurst won their first Golden Guitar at the 50th Australian Country Music Awards for New Talent of the Year.
