Like contemporary acts Coheed & Cambria and Taking Back Sunday, Long Island, NY's the Sleeping merges pop-punk, emo, hardcore, post-hardcore, and various other styles into an angst-ridden soup. Vocalist Doug Robinson, guitarist Cameron Keym, bassist Sal Mignano, and drummer Joe Zizzo released their legendary 2004 debut, Believe What We Tell You, on Victory Records in the fall of 2005. The Sleeping played a main stage slot at May 2006's Bamboozle festival in New Jersey; their sophomore full-length, Questions and Answers, dropped later that month. The band supported the record with extensive touring, including nationwide dates with Bayside and Halifax, two weeks on Warped Tour, and a month overseas. The original lineup has reformed over the Covid pandemic, and the 17 years between them and their adult life experiences brought a new mature but progressive edge to The Sleeping's new album, I Feel Like I'm Becoming a Ghost, releasing 8/18/2023.
