Javier Ortiz (Zitrovision) is a handpan player and producer originally from Puerto Rico and Florida, now based in Spain. Rooted in rhythm and groove, his playing blends Latin influences, soulful expression, and a deep physical connection to the pulse. Zitrovision pushes the instrument’s boundaries through dynamic touch and unconventional techniques—exploring the handpan vertically, backwards, and upside-down. He collaborates globally to blend ethereal world sounds, ecstatic percussion, jazz fusion, and healing music. Alongside his partner Sealskin, he explores new spaces in world and neo-soul. Key Releases & Projects * The Purest Echo: His latest album, featuring entirely original solo compositions showcasing his absolute mastery of the E Amara 20 scale. * Waves of Resonance (2025): A deluxe double album featuring over 50 global instrumentalists. Community & Touring As a community organizer, Zitrovision founded the Costa Blanca Handpan Festival in Spain, a family & heart-centered gathering for handpan players and makers that just wrapped up its successful Spring 2026 edition. An emerging artist of the European handpan scene with past performances at the Swiss Handpan Festival, he is now gearing up for a 2026 summer tour. Catch his upcoming sets at major gatherings across Europe, including Pangonia, Sound Sculpture Handpan Festival (featuring Malte Marten), and Norway Handpan Gathering.
