Mercury Teardrop's debut album, Apparitions of a Dying Moon, is an homage to the synth sounds and textures of early 80s bands like Simple Minds, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Fad Gadget, Talk Talk and the Cure. MT's influences combine with a love for the entire genre of Ambient Electronica, including artists like Trentemoller, Tycho and Boards of Canada.
