Donat Jackson

For the past 3 years, Donat Jackson has been quietly working away at his debut EP. Titled "SARNIA", it details his experiences growing up in his hometown of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. In it, he navigates his environment, struggles, and influences coming up. His music always has a vulnerable and honest tone; songs such as "FIRSTTHINGSFIRST" or "THAPROCESS" really paint vivid pictures of his upbringing. With most of his music being self produced, Donat has a really intentional, raw sound. He blends thoughtful storytelling with a diverse sound palette, pulling from hip-hop, r&b, jazz and soul music. Music is a therapeutic experience for Donat, it's a journal in which he spends a considerable amount of time in self-reflection. These days Donat is based in London, Ontario, Canada, and is a member of Canadian collective 4DaTribe. The talented collective consists of other notable artists such as KOTO?, KA1 BANK$, insyt., NewestError, & Jet Blck Renji. It's also home to producer Soft Eyez, audio engineer Blake Sautner, and clothing brand Dying2Live. The collective has started making small waves in southern Ontario, most recently opening for Thelonious' on Oct 13th at the Garrison. So far, Donat has released the first 4 singles off his "SARNIA" ep; "TRIEDSOHARD", "THAPROCESS", "WONTCHANGE" & "FIRSTTHINGSFIRST". They all have accompanied visuals and serve as a strong showing of the diversity in his sound. With his tape slated to release in early 2025, its clear he's here to stay.
