Born just before the collapse of the USSR, Ankara-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Dozi Ozovski approaches music not as a linear path, but as a surreal, ever-shifting collage. Rather than adhering to traditional industry structures, he dismantles genres, melting contrasting styles into an unpredictable sonic ecosystem. His catalog thrives on subverting expectations. Ozovski debuted in 2019 with Kozmik Kapak, a sprawling exploration of neo-psychedelia and alternative rock that carried the atmospheric, guitar-driven melancholy of The Cure. Shifting gears abruptly, he stripped his sound back with a series of intimate acoustic singles before pivoting once again for his 2022 EP, Uzak Ülke. The result was a brilliantly "disco-ish, sulky" atmosphere—reminiscent of the sophisticated, cynical pop lens of the Pet Shop Boys, designed for the mundane absurdity of daily walks and small house gatherings. Now, Ozovski is preparing to launch his sophomore full-length album. Following years of meticulous production, this new era of calculated musical disruption begins in June 2026 with the lead single. Sonically, this new chapter sharpens his electronic edge, bridging the pioneering, cold-wave synthesizer architecture of Gary Numan with the abrasive, meticulous industrial sound design of Nine Inch Nails. The result is a striking evolution: an artist anchoring global post-punk and synth-pop lineage firmly within a contemporary, Mediterranean independent landscape.
