Harshadewa is an established singer-songwriter, who was born to a family of musicians. While his father, W. D. Ariyasinghe, is a renowned singer, his mother, Darshani Chandrasena, is also a celebrated musician, teacher and producer who has contributed to much to Harshadewa’s music background and education. Above all, his maternal grandfather Maestro R. A. Chandrasena was an iconic composer from the 40s to the 80s. Harshadewa’s eastern classical mixed contemporary singing style could be described as a unique fusion of both worlds. His remake of the most popular song of his grandfather “Dasabaladhari” has shown the versatility of his vocals. Not stopping there, he also created a pop song for the mass category of Sri Lankan music called “Nobala Ma Diha” in 2015. In 2018 he produced another contemporary R&B Pop super hit song called “Heena Maka” featuring Ravi Jay with the songwriters Charitha Attalage, Arosha Adhikari, and Ravi Jay. In 2021, he composed, produced and released a game-changing synth-pop hit called "AYASAYE" showcasing his audio production and songwriting capabilities. He announced his first studio album that will be released in mid-2021.
