A leading composer of her generation, Sally Greenaway's music delights audiences and musicians alike, which expresses our most intimate to grandiose experiences of our world, often with a strong focus on nature and our humanity. ***** "One of the most striking qualities of Greenaway's works ... is that feeling for landscape which also characterises the music of Peter Sculthorpe or Nigel Westlake, the spacious scoring and meandering melodiousness contributing to a sense of sublime restfulness." (-Gramophone Magazine) "Sally's music is an act of kindness. A bird song. The path of a swan. The pattern of a rose. It is light reflecting on water. It is walking through a forest." (- Sarah Rice, poet and artist) Greenaway's writing spans a wide assortment of styles and genres, including classical solo, chamber and orchestral works, jazz ensemble and big band works, as well as film, advertising and documentary soundtracks. She is the recipient of several awards including an APRA Art Music Award for Instrumental Work of the Year (State Award, 2017). She completed post-graduate studies in composition at the Royal College of Music, London. Since returning to Australia, she has held lecturing posts at Sydney Conservatorium Jazz Department and Canberra Institute of Technology's Music Industry Centre and has given masterclasses and guest lectures at the Music Departments of Monash University (Melbourne) and the Australian National University (Canberra).
