NIKKAELA

NIKKAELA is a Vancouver-based R&B and soul singer-songwriter known for heartfelt lyricism and a sound shaped by her greatest influences Summer Walker, Jhené Aiko and Kehlani. Her musical foundation was built early, through theatre, church choirs, singing competitions, and dance groups. After a hiatus during high school, she returned to her church community, where she began to approach music as a space for reflection and personal growth — an approach that continues to define her artistry today. She released her debut single, "Moment," in January 2021. The track connected strongly with Vancouver's Filipino community as well as her broader circle of friends, family, and early listeners, establishing the foundation of her audience. Since then, NIKKAELA has released a steady catalogue of singles — including "Sinner," "Lotus Bloom," "Reckless," "Tricky," "Sometimes," and "Decline" — culminating in her EP Look, Don't Touch (2024). 2025 brought "Body Language" — not just a single, but a music video, premiered to a full house at the VIFF Centre. It's the clearest picture yet of who NIKKAELA is becoming: an artist and where she is headed.
