She first gained international recognition as one half of the indie duo Gurr, touring with artists such as Arcade Fire, The Strokes, and Kraftklub, and winning the IMPALA European Album of the Year Award in 2018. In 2020, she launched Laura Lee & The Jettes, combining indie rock, grunge textures, and krautpop influences into a distinct and personal sound. Beyond her band work, Laura composed music for the ZDF film Nicht tot zu kriegen, contributed to productions at Schauspiel Leipzig, and appeared in the Vice documentary 6 Hours with Laura Lee. She is also part of the Keychange initiative. On September 5, 2025, Laura Lee & The Jettes released their second album Tough Love Paradigm (Unsolicited Advice / The Orchard / Sony Music), produced by Laura herself and mixed by Collin Dupuis (Lana Del Rey, Angel Olsen) and Rhys Edwards (Ulrika Spacek). The album blends indie rock, post-punk, and emotional directness, exploring themes such as self-determination and motherhood.
