‘Musical Nature’ is an ecological art projects in collaboration with many other folk musicians of Meghalaya. A smaller but more intimate exploration designed to reveal natural communication of music and art through the medium of visual and sound. Often to the point of highlighting a specific form of nature as a subject of celebration and inquiry, this art explores a form of a much larger engagement with the human and non-human world. This project includes an extensive research components such as the cultural and ecological history of Meghalaya . I believe in order to truly create a change we must consider and include diverse communities, shift the patterns and sort the gears. We must listen to nature and communicate in return: the sun, the air, the moon, the clouds, mountains, trees, grass, water and the beings that live on the land, in the air, and in the water. Through other dimensions bridging the gap between the real and the unreal, human and non-human. Musical Nature’ encourages people to think of the larger context in which they live and to see how our current actions as individuals affect the Earth’s future – written by Rida Gatphoh
