Singer Laura Kipp grew up in Reutlingen in southern Germany and studied jazz vocals and improvised music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. In her first semester of study, she was admitted to the Bundesjazzorchester Deutschland (German Federal Jazz Orchestra) and was part of several CD productions and international concerts and tours, working with artists and musical directors such as Nils Landgren, Jörg Achim Kaufmann, and Niels Klein. In the summer of 2017, she sang as a background vocalist alongside Quincy Jones, George Benson, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Jacob Collier at the Jazzopen Festival. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Paris to continue her studies at the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieure. There, she learned from instructors including Vince Mendoza, John Patitucci, Riccardo Del Fra, François Théberge, and Médéric Collignon. With her debut album "Quiet Land" released in July 2021 and her second studio album "Sunset Balcony" released in May 2023, she quickly garnered significant media attention: "Certainly one of the most exciting new jazz voices in the country" - DLF Kultur, "Laura Kipp conquers the jazz world by storm" - HR2, "Mature and youthful at the same time: Laura Kipp as an expressive new voice in jazz vocals" - Süddeutsche Zeitung.
