Born in Toronto, Mimi Cross is an author, songwriter, and singer who grew up by the beach in New Jersey. She studied at NYU where she received an MA in Music Education and focused on vocal jazz. She's an experienced performer and worked briefly in the music industry, but her passion is songwriting. Mimi sang before she could talk and has been writing songs since she was five years old. Mimi has shared the bill with such luminaries as Sting, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Lauryn Hill, Loudon Wainwright, and Jill Sobule. She is a two time Asbury Music Award winner and has played shows with many Jersey Shore musicians, including Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen. Her songs have been used in independent films, and TV shows. Mimi also writes books. Her first two published novels are Before Goodbye and Shining Sea. A dual narrative with a love story at its core, Before Goodbye was a 2017 finalist for the RWA Rita Award for Best First Book. "Mimi fuses delicacy and power, heart and gut. Her writing and singing are inspiring and evocative." --Grammy award winning artist Rosanne Cash
