Millimetrik (born Pascal Asselin) has been exploring the twists and edges of electronic music since 2003 through an impressive catalog of releases. Looking back on the journey of this “veteran” of the Quebec electronic scene, it becomes clear that he is constantly seeking to reinvent himself through concepts inspired by travel, photography, and cinema. The sounds that define his career evoke a broad musical landscape ranging from ambient and trip- hop to, more recently, house music in all its forms. He has also recently created sound designs for the worlds of circus, dance, theatre, as well as radio themes. The Quebec City native is a two-time recipient of the Félix Award for Best Electronic Album at the ADISQ, winning in 2019 and 2022. He has performed on the stages of Osheaga, FME, Mutek, and the Brussels Electronic Music Festival, among others. In 2014, he also won the GAMIQ Award for Best Electronic Album for Lonely Lights.
