NASAYA is the artist project of Théo Hoarau, an electronic producer from Réunion, a French island in the Indian Ocean. He grew up in a Creole family, inspired by the natural beauty and cultural diversity of the island. At 16, he received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where he deepened his focus on electronic production. While at Berklee, he became close friends with Portuguese vocalist MARO, who has since become a frequent collaborator. Together they released the EP PIRILAMPO through Ninja Tune's Foreign Family Collective, followed by their 2025 album LIFELINE, which they toured across North America. NASAYA's work has been championed by Billboard, BBC Radio 1, and Triple J, while landing syncs with Apple, the TV show PLURIBUS, Netflix, and Mercedes. He has also produced for UMI, Fiji Blue, and MARO. For the last few years, NASAYA has been quietly crafting his next chapter of solo material, much of it written at Berlin's Funkhaus studio. More personal and more left of center than his earlier work with indie-pop vocalists, the new songs feel textural, melodic, detailed, and mysterious.
