"I died three times..."  A musician since he was 13, a heart failure patient since he was 28, a heart transplant recipient at 46. Along the way a solid body of solo work as well as collaborations with successful regional bands such as Ground Zero, The Dreadnaughts, Mental Pause, Lost Love Horizon, Assembly of Odd, and Against All Odds.  Kyd K is the rebirth of Dave Johnson after a harrowing 6 year ordeal on a transplant waiting list, a total artificial heart implant, and finally a real donor heart in 2016 He never stopped writing or recording, managing two albums during that time, one of them a sprawling 22 track concept album that chronicles his transplant journey - much of it recorded while living in hospital rooms.  Kyd Kalydoscope is a New Thing; groove infused power-pop with gutsy guitars, soaring vocal harmonies and soulful vocal.
