Joshua Epithet has spent the past few years splitting his time between the UK & US, which is evident in his list of influences - ranging from Blur to Mitski, Tears for Fears to Childish Gambino, and The Smiths to My Chemical Romance. Recording the single was also Joshua Epithet’s first time writing a song outside of his bedroom, Joshua expands “After hearing one of my previous singles on the the radio, James reached out to me and asked if I would be up for working together sometime. I was so excited I basically got on the next train down to London. Murder, Murder was made from scratch over the course of about seven hours, it was my first time I realised I had made something anthemic. Pure indie rock with a dash of emo and pop, I could not love it anymore.” This is the first single of three to be released before the end of the year, all part of an album written and produced by James Dring and Joshua Epithet expected to release early 2026. His debut album ‘Boys And Their Video Cameras’ received multiple spins on BBC 6 Music from Steve Lamacq and Amy Lamé, as well as BBC Radio 1 support from Jack Saunders and Gemma Bradley and nods of approval from tastemakers including GQ, Rolling Stone, The Sunday Times, NME, Clash, Ones To Watch, Dummy, Consequence of Sound + many more. He has also performed live to packed venues at Live At Leeds and Neighbourhood Festival.
