hara

hara is Indonesian singer-songwriter Rara Sekar's solo project. After Banda Neira, Daramuda, and other prior collaborative projects, Rara Sekar finally decided to release her solo music project: hara. Unlike her previous music projects, hara’s music is a musical fusion inspired by folk, pop, ambient, infused with Indonesian traditional music and a hint of post-rock. Her debut EP, Kenduri, which was released on June 7, 2021, received acclaims as a contemporary meditative take on the environment that is deeply rooted in the Indonesian experience. Through Kenduri, hara, who is also a gardener, invites listeners to rethink our exploitative relationship with Mother nature (Ibu Bumi) and to witness the journey of how she rekindles her relationship with nature through gardening.
