Renegade

Renegade is the stage name of Rashid Mlongo, a South African rapper, writer, and actor based in KwaZulu-Natal. Over a multidisciplinary creative career spanning two decades, Renegade has built a voice rooted in lived experience, channeling the streets, struggle, and resilience of Durban into music that doesn't flinch. His debut album, "Saved," released in March 2020, introduced an artist unafraid to wrestle with faith, identity, and survival. He followed it in September 2021 with his second studio album, "The Origin Story," a deeper, more ambitious record tracing the roots of the man behind the name. Renegade's music sits at the intersection of hip hop's raw honesty and the storytelling instincts of an actor and writer, an artist who doesn't just rap his story, he directs it.
