Cloud Chief

Cloud Chief is the music project of Chayen Wittmer, producer, songwriter and musician from Venlo, Netherlands, born in 1991. Raised on jazz records, soul music and late-night jam sessions, music was never a choice. It was simply always there. Around 2003, as a teenager, he started building hip-hop beats in his bedroom, sampling, layering, figuring things out by ear. No formal training. Just obsession and time. Those early productions came out under the names NfinityBeats and later Famezbeats, still findable on streaming platforms today. After stepping away for several years, he returned during COVID, working late at night from a small attic studio, after work and family life had quieted down. What started as a way to breathe grew into full productions, real songs and real stories. Cloud Chief launched in 2022, a natural evolution of everything that came before. The sound lives between boom bap and blues, warm, slightly worn at the edges, with live-played instruments woven through sample-based production and layered vocal textures. Emotion over precision. Human imperfections kept in deliberately. Music that breathes. Expanding into visual and live formats, with future performances underway.
