Textures of Being

Berlin-based keyboardist Winfried Strauss explores contrast and contradiction on his debut album Textures of Being. Inspired by dark and beautiful emotions alike, the album moves between minimal piano, ambient textures, dark wave, and techno influences. Drawing on the spirit of modern classical artists like Max Richter, Volker Bertelmann, and Philip Glass, Strauss creates a sound that is both structured and free, emotional and restrained. “They’re inspired by dark and ugly emotions but beautiful things as well. So I invite people to feel these feelings — and join the ride.”
