OTI is my debut album. The album is named after my son OTI. Hello My name is Buka Chimey, a Ugandan musician and mental health advocate in the creative arts. My sound is a soulful fusion of groovy Hip Hop, authentic rap, and heartfelt, down-home charm. I blend indigenous African sounds with Afrobeat, Ragga, Dancehall, Kizomba, and conscious, vibrant lyrics to create music that unifies cultures, celebrates life, and expresses deep emotions. This album is more than just music—it’s my story. After battling depression and anxiety for three years, I began recording it in 2022 as part of my personal healing journey. Music became my space for self-rehabilitation, and through this process, I’ve crafted a project that speaks to resilience, love, and the joy of being alive. The album is a fusion of multi-genres, with rap as the primary thread, woven together with Dancehall, Kizomba, Amapiano, Afrobeats, and Reggaeton influences. Each song is a celebration of life, love, and the power of music to uplift and connect people across borders. What makes this album stand out? • A dynamic blend of love songs and party anthems designed to uplift spirits and set the perfect vibe for today’s world, where joy and connection matter more than ever. • A rich sonic tapestry that fuses traditional African instruments with cutting-edge digital sounds, creating a unique and refreshing auditory experience. • Collaborations with some of Uganda’s celebrated artists, including Pallaso, Martha Mukisa, Angella Katatumba, Dre Kali, and Bruno K, adding diverse flavors to the project. This album is for anyone looking to celebrate love, life, and culture through music that feels both timeless and fresh. It’s the perfect addition to playlists that aim to inspire movement, connection, and reflection. I’d love for you to feature this album, add it to your playlist, or even consider an interview or review to help share this story and sound with a wider audience. Thank you for taking the time to consider my work. I believe this project will resonate with your audience, and I’d be honored to have your support in amplifying its message. Looking forward to your response and the possibility of collaborating to spread the energy of this music
