In 2009 the United Nations designated 22 April as International Mother Earth Day. On behalf of more than 500 million Indigenous Peoples in seven world regions, speaking more than 4,000 languages, the Bolivian-led resolution A/RES/63/278 was adopted. In these days of prophecy and pandemic, we, the Indigenous Peoples, walk in beauty in the footsteps of our ancestors. On this International Mother Earth Day, we encourage our sisters and brothers to join us in honoring and defending the Rights of Mother Earth and all her children.
